Children’s Art Instructor

Job Description:
Creative Arts is seeking a passionate and creative Children’s Art Instructor excited about inspiring the next generation of young artists! The ideal candidate will have a love for art, a knack for teaching, and a commitment to fostering creativity in children. This role involves designing and implementing engaging art lessons for children of various age groups and skill levels while providing a supportive and fun learning environment.
Position: Children’s Art Instructor
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson planning: Develop and execute age-appropriate art lessons that encourage creativity and self-expression while introducing various techniques and mediums.
-Instruction: Teach art techniques in painting, drawing and other artistic disciplines, adapting instruction based on age group.
-Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
-Communication: Regularly communicate with parents and students as well as Creative Arts administrative staff.
- Comply with policies and procedures as listed on Creative Arts’ website.
-Supply Management: Manage art supplies and materials needed for instruction
Required Qualifications:
-Familiarity of fine arts and various art mediums and techniques
-At least one year of experience teaching children ages 8-18
-Ability to plan and teach classes
-Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education or related field experience
-Experience teaching children in an art setting
-Strong artistic skills and creativity
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to engage and inspire children
-Organizational skills and attention to detail
Hours:
-Approximately 2-4 hours per week / school year
-Approximately 8-10 hours per week / summer art camps
-This is an independent contractor position
